THE INDUSTRY’S LEADING ABRASION RESISTANT PIPE
Ultra Tech starts with steel pipe rolled to our proprietary, hardenable chemistry. The pipe is induction heated and water quenched on the inner wall.
The sudden cooling of the hot surface locks-in a martensitic microstructure, which creates a pipe with a 600 BHN inner surface (for up to one-third of the wall thickness), which tapers to 250BHN on the outer wall. This combination creates an ideal pipe profile with outstanding inner abrasion resistance, yet an outer wall that provides ductility for welding, handling, and service conditions.
Ultra 600 will outlast mild steel by three to six times in most abrasive applications. This improved durability will reduce downtime and expenses associated with pipeline maintenance. Your total cost over the lifetime of a UT600 pipeline will be significantly less than a mild steel pipeline that requires more frequent replacement.

EXTENDED LIFE ELBOW
XLE DELIVERS RESULTS
One Ultra Tech customer had tried several options for a trouble spot in their foundry sand transport system. Ultra Tech engineers tackled the problem and developed the XLE Extended Life Elbow.
In a real-world application, the 4″ XLE transported over 4 million pounds of sand and lasted for a full year. When inspected, that elbow still had half of its wall thickness intact.
